I can't remember when it was that I first read that quote by Walt Whitman, but I've always loved it. It's very freeing to accept oneself (and others) as the inconsistent, changing, growing beings that we are.
With just a week left of National Poetry Month, I dedicate this post to some of my favorite poets, including Whitman. Although I have a hard time commiting entire poems to memory, there are always lines-phrases-words, that have the ability to articulate exactly what's in my insides, OR, completely go against everything that I believe, and cause me to rip my world wide open.
